![]() Earthquake resistance has often been an important design and construction parameter. These bridges contain remarkable features of novel bridge construction technology, such as poly-aramid fibre pilot rope, prefabricated parallel wire strands and air injected cables. Then it will be the third longest-span bridge ever built, and the greatest bridge in the beginning of the new Millennium. The Runyang Bridge (1490 m) was commenced in 2000 and is due for completion in 2005.
